Waiting....

Quick update...

Things are going good. Miles is growing and is healthy. He just might be here before we expected. I have a mild case of preeclampsia (high blood pressure.) My Dr. has put me on bed rest until the little guy gets here. Which could be next week or in 2 weeks! I will be 37 weeks on Monday, so if we can hold off till then, the Dr (and myself) will feel a lot better. I go to the hospital on Sunday for them to check my BP again, as long as it is under control I will keep doing what I am doing. If it goes up, I will be put in the hospital and they will probably induce. So our little guy might end up being the best Christmas present I have ever received, we will just have to wait and see what happens!

Until then, I am at my mommas house. It was the only compromise we could come up with (the Dr wanted to put me in the hospital yesterday.) Mom thought if I was at her house, she could keep an eye on me and make sure I do what I am suppose to do. Plus we are having Christmas with Mom, Dad, Kris, Tara and the kids on Saturday so I could not miss that!

If I don't blog soon, I hope everyone has a very Merry and Blessed Christmas!!!

a little big?

i had a check up today...first, everything is great. the little guy's heartbeat was very strong and loud! second, i guess i am getting big, i mean i know i am, but arent you suppose to get big when you are pregnant? anyways, my dr. told me that i am measuring a "little big" so next time we will measure to make sure i am not having a "12 pound baby." first off, i dont care who you are, you should NEVER tell a pregnant woman that she is a "little big" it might hurt their feelings. but all in all, things are good. i got my H1N1 shot today, so for those of you who are wondering, i will let you know how i feel in a couple of days. i will say one thing, compared to the regular flu shot, it was a lot thicker and i could definitely feel it going in. i have officially started my 2 week visits, so i go back nov. 19 and we will measure and do an ultrasound to make sure i am not having a 12 pound baby.

Golf Golf Golf

So for those of you who do not know my husband...he LOVES golf. So when we found out we were having a boy, there was only one option for a nursery. Lucky for me, I have the most talented sister-in-law in the world. Tara came over and painted the baby's nursery and once again she amazed me. If I do say so myself...I think this is one of the cutest nursery's she has ever done!

The alligator was Zayne's favorite part of the whole thing...He thought there should have been more animals on the golf course, like an elephant!!!

Mom and Dad bought the little guys crib and it came in last week, so we were able to put it up too. Thanks Momma and Daddy...it matches the rest of the furniture perfectly and we love it!! AND we love you!!

We found the other furniture on craigslist and we love it!!!
We still have to buy bedding, mattress, and curtains, but I am excited to say that we are actually getting ready for his arrival...91 days and counting!
If you ever need a painting job done, please contact Tara, she is amazing!!! Thank you Tara!!!!!

The kids had a great time, as for me...lets just say I have had a better time before, but I would do it all over again for Zayne and Emry. Here are some pictures from that day.

Future Golfer or Pilot???

Aaron was in a professional golf tourney this past weekend in Ruidoso. Aaron got to go to Ruidoso on Monday, while I stayed at home to work...which I found to be very unfair, but I guess it wasnt that bad. Aaron's first round was Wednesday morning, so as I worked, he took on the mountain golf course for his first ever professional tourney, that he played in as an amateur. Well things did not go the way we would of like for them to go but he had fun, and still had one more round to play. Thursday he teed off about the time I was at my Dr.'s appointment. I was so nervous for him. I just wanted him to play good, or better than the day before. After my dr. appointment, mom and I headed to Sudan so we could get on the road to Ruidoso. We ended up flying, which I was very nervous about. I love to fly, but I havent flown since I got preggo and I especially havent flown in a small plane while it was cloudy. The flight went great and the baby sleep the whole time. Due to Aaron's rain delay, we were able to get to the golf course before he finished playing for the day. It was pretty dark when we got there, and Aaron didnt even get to finish his round. So at 6am Friday morning, I got up to watch him play his final 4 holes. He did so much better his second round, I was so proud of him. The baby was proud of his daddy too. I think he knew his daddy was playing golf, he usually doesnt move that early in the morning, but once he heard his daddy tee off the first time, he was awake and kicking. Aaron didnt make the cut, but he had a blast. One of Aaron's teammates from Wayland was playing to and he did make the final cut, so we watched Mikel play a little on Friday. I had so much fun, I wish I could have watched more, but I was not about to walk that course. Saturday morning, we had to get up and fly home, I had a family reunion in Amherst last weekend. It was a pretty bumpy ride home, but the more bumpy it got, the more the baby kicked. I guess he loved the ups and downs of the bumps. It was so cute!!! He loved it. So I am not sure if we have a golfer or a pilot on our hands, but I have a feeling he will love both. I will have my hands full in the future!! Here are a couple of pictures from the golf tourney.

Gotta love the wildlife in the mountains.

Healthy Baby Boy

I went to my Dr. visit on the 10th. Mom went with me since Aaron was in Ruidoso, playing in a golf tourney (I will blog about that soon). My little man is doing great. It was a great thing for mom to experience with me. The Dr. did another ultrasound so he could measure all the different parts to make sure the baby is healthy. First off, he is still a he...so we were thrilled!

Here is a picture of his boy parts (they are circled if you can see that)

Here is a up close version of it...and yes that is his butt towards the camera...like father, like son.

The Dr did all of his measurements and everything was great. The heart, head, organs, everything. He had at least 5 fingers and toes on each hand and foot, so we are happy with that. He was really active during the visit, you could see his feet and arms moving. He was kicking me, but I really didnt feel anything.

Here a picture of the baby's profile. If I dont say so myself, he is one handsome guy. So everything went very well and I am so happy my momma got to go with me. My next appointment in Oct. 6, and it will be a big one. They will test me for diabetes and I will also have to get my RH factor shot. I dont do well with needles, so pray I act like a grown up and not a 6 year old child.

The winning color is....

We had our check up today. A luckily all signs of the bladder infection are gone...YAY! Baby's heartbeat was 160 bpm, and the baby was not cooperating with the nurse. It took her a really long time to get a good measurement of the heartbeat...the little stinker was sure active today. She even felt the baby kick the Doppler one time, but I didn't feel it. I do feel it kick off and on throughout the day but not to much. I asked the nurse if Dr. Blann would be doing an ultrasound and she said "no" that he usually doesn't do them until 21 or 22 weeks (I am 20 weeks). Aaron and I were a little bummed but Dr Blann came in and said that if we wanted to know he would tell us!! YAY!!!! So the results from the ultrasound...BLUE!!! That's right, we are having a boy!!!!! Aaron and I are thrilled. I do not have any pictures of the little guy yet, my official ultrasound will be on 9-10-09 and I will get the pictures then. Aaron will be in a golf tourney at Ruidoso that week, so he will not be able to go with me. Which means my mom will go!!! I am sure she will be so excited to go with me and she will get to see her grandson for the first time that day. Hope everyone has a fantastic week, I am pretty sure this will be the best week of my life!

ER visit and Kicks

Not much has really been going on since my last update. I had to make a little trip to the emergency room last Monday morning. Nothing major, but it scared me, Aaron, my mom, my aunt, my grandma, and everyone else I think. Around 8:30 last Sunday night, I started cramping severely. I really did not think much of it, since I have cramped pretty much my entire pregnancy. After an hour of me crying from being in so much pain, Aaron called the on-call Dr. The advice we got...take 2 Tylenol, drink water, and get some sleep. Easier said than done, the cramping did not go away. Monday morning came and I called my Dr. My Dr. was out of the office that day, so I had to go to the ER. After 3 1/2 hours in the ER, the diagnoses...a bladder infection. Praise the Lord, nothing was wrong with my baby, but I was not happy. I have never had one before and had no idea they were so painful. I have been on my antibiotics for 7 days now and things are much better.
Last Sunday was also the first day I felt the baby. I was just one time and I did not feel it again for a couple of days. I felt the baby off and on last week, but not that often. Then today, the little monster kicked or punched me all day long. I think Aaron is a little jealous that he can not feel it, but I sure can. It is the best feeling in the world.
Other than that, not much has been going on. We go back to the Dr. on the 25th and hopefully we will find out what our "peanut" is. I will post then.

Dr Appointment

I had my monthly check-up today and everything is going great. Aaron went with me, like he usually does, but today he got to hear the baby's heartbeat. I heard the heartbeat at my last appointment, but my mom went with me instead of Aaron, so today was the first time Aaron heard it. The baby was playing hide-n-seek with the nurse and it took her a little bit to find it, which naturally scared me a little bit. All is well though, the baby's heart rate is 166 beats per minute and the nurse predicted a boy. Dr. Blann will not do the ultrasound till I am about 21 weeks, so 5 more weeks to go before we can find out what the baby is. I guess I can wait till then, although I am getting tired of calling my baby "it", but it will be worth the wait. I have not gained any weight yet, (for the first time in my life) but Dr. Blann said it is nothing to worry about. It is weird to me that the one time in my life I want to gain some weight, I don't, but I figure it will happen sooner than later. I should gain around 12-15 pounds this trimester, so I guess it will be coming.

Other than baby news, there really is not a whole lot going on in our lives. One of Aaron's closest friends is getting married Saturday, so we will be doing wedding stuff all weekend, which should be fun. Aaron is also going to be in golf tourney in Ruidoso right after Labor Day, so I guess I have to let him practice a lot in the upcoming weeks. He is really excited about the tourney, and I hope he does really well, and if not, we get to go to Ruidoso, so it is a win, win situation for us. I guess that is about going on right now.

Love,
Kasey

Hello World

Hello Blogging world, welcome to our page. I am Kasey Ledbetter (formerly Humphreys) and I have been married to the greatest man alive, Aaron for 4 months now. He is my hero and I could not have asked for a better man.

Our story is sort of a fairy tale. We met August 2007, when I started working at Furniture Row. We were both in relationships when I started, but we quickly became friends. After 2 weeks of working there, I broke up with my boyfriend and Aaron soon broke up with his girlfriend. Since then, we have been inseparable. Of course, the first 8 months we had to date in secret, due to company policies, but most people knew that we were in love. Aaron swept me off my feet and I knew within a couple of weeks of dating, that he was the man I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. In April 2008, I quit my job at Furniture Row, and we could finally be a real couple, which was the best feeling ever!! July 1, 2008 he popped the question, and without even hesitating I said,"YES". March 21st, was the big wedding day and it was by far the best day of my life. Most of it is still a blur, but I do know that I married the man of my dreams. So that is our short fairy-tale. We meet, we fell in love, we were hitched.

Then we got the surprise of our lives...after only 3 weeks of being married...I ended up pregnant. Which leads us up to now. I am currently 16 weeks, pregnant and due January 11, 2010. We were not planning on a baby this fast, but it was out of our hands and we could not be happier, after the initial shock wore off. I have always dreamed of being a mom and cant wait to meet our little one. I got back to the Dr. on Tuesday (7-28) and I am hoping they will surprise me and do a sonogram, but I am not holding my breathe.

Thanks for following our blog and I will keep everyone updated on our little one.

Love,
Aaron & Kasey
