19 months

Oh.my.sweet.baby.toddler.boy.  You are now 19 months old.  You are changing daily.  Daddy and I are always looking at each other and thinking…”where did he learn that”  “did he really just say that”.  You are for sure keeping us on our toes.

You are an independent little fella.  You have to do things your way and in your time and it has to be your idea.

You are pretty much repeating anything that we say (not always a good thing)  You can say your colors, some of them, but you cant identify them.

You have turned into the little daredevil.  You are pure boy and I am learning to let you do your thing, even if I know you are going to fall…how else are you suppose to learn???

You are sleeping better…not every night, but I will take the nights we do get.  Although we have had some HORRIBLE nights in the last month.

You still wear 18 month shirts, 12 month shorts (although you sag with them)  size 5 shoes (needs to be 6) and size 4 diapers.

You have an obsession with your shoes.  You want to pick them out and put them on yourself.

You have an obsession with your hat.  You ALWAYS have to have your hat…luckily we have not had to go to bed with it, although I think we will soon.

You still have your obsession with golf and baseball. And you are actually getting better at both.  You can hit a golf ball off a tee using one of mommy’s clubs (better than mommy, not saying much) and hit the baseball of the tee.

You don’t have to have your paci as much anymore, although it is a must at nap time and night time.

You have to have daddy and only daddy put you to sleep.  You refuse to let mommy hold you while you go to sleep.

You are pretty much a daddy’s boy finally now.

You have started playing with “tucks” (trucks) and “ca-cas” (tractors, don’t ask me why we call them that)

You have had your first flight with pop.  You loved it.  I think you might be pop’s co-pilot one day.

You still have a mean temper and throw bad fits.  But with a spanking tough love, you will finally calm down.

You have loved summertime and you want to go “gass” (grass but it means outside) all the time.  You just don’t understand that it is usually way to hot to go outside.

You still love Lyla, but you have finally stopped calling every animal Lyla.

You have actually started being a hugger and a kisser.  We finally get hugs and kisses from you.

You go non-stop, you are silly, outgoing, demanding, loveable, temperamental, hard-head, goofy, passionate, and the sweetest little boy that I know.  I love watching you grow and change and become your own person.  You are more like a little boy instead of a baby…which makes mommy sad and happy at the same time.

Happy 19 months love bug!  We love you bunches and bunches!

Celebration

Awww….the Amherst Celebration.  I use to love going to this when I was younger.  Amherst is such a neat little community and it amazes me how everyone still comes home and comes to their reunions the way they do in Amherst.  So I decided that Miles need to experience the good ole Amherst Celebration.  We couldn’t stay all day, but we made it to the parade.  We literally had one of the best seats in the house.  Aunt K and Uncle Galen always open up their front yard which is on main street to anyone who wants to come.  So we headed to their house for a little pre-parade baseball game.  We don’t go anywhere without a baseball bat or golf club.

So we played some baseball.

Aunt K made us a tee

We ran our bases (we hit Kathy Mills when we threw our bat to run our bases…sorry Kathy)

Ruidoso

I am pretty sure that I never took a vacation without going with Lisa.  It has been years since we have gone on vacation together, like 10!  And it was to Ruidoso.  Which I didn’t want to be there, it was New Years Eve, I was a Sr. in HS, my boyfriend was back home and I was stuck in Ruidoso with my parents and Lisa’s family.  Not the point.  The point is, I cherish those memories with my best friend and I think its great that we can take family trips together with our own families.  So we headed to Ruidoso…with 2 toddler boys and 2 big more mature boys.  for our first ever mini vacation together.

We had such a blast.  The big more mature boys played golf on Saturday morning, which means Lisa and I got to babysit.  We didn’t mind.  We stayed at Granny’s house which has an amazing deck.  It is the length of the house and we just put some baby gates up at the stairs and let the boys play.

They played with some golf clubs (luckily we don’t leave home with out them), with some balls and some trucks and tractors.

golf was by far the favorite for both boys.  although Miles was not happy about sharing his golf clubs, but he did pretty good.

Don’t look at the boys to closely.  They look like they beat each other up…they didn’t.  They had beaten themselves up.  Miles at daycare earlier in the week, Dylan at breakfast Saturday morning.  Make them look tough though, huh?

DSCN7244DSCN7245DSCN7249

I am sure they are planning something good here.

DSCN7250DSCN7251

After playing on the front deck for a while we decided to take the boys to ride the ponies down town.  Off we went.

Dylan probably could have cared less either way, but he sure looks cute.

DSCN7255DSCN7259

As you notice there are no pictures of Miles riding the ponies….that is because he threw the BIGGEST LOUDEST SCREAMING fit you have ever heard and refused to sit on the pony.  One of the high school guys working it tried to get him on one too and Miles ended up scratching him, so he gave him back to me.  So we just stood on the sidelines to watch Dylan and Lisa go round-and-round-and round.

After the ponies, we went back to the trailer waited on the big boys, watched it rained, went to eat, then headed to the race track.

It was still raining when we got there, and we really didn’t mind.  It was so nice out in the rain.  It was beautiful!

DSCN7261DSCN7262DSCN7266DSCN7268

Seriously…probably not a good thing.  No telling what they are coming up with.

DSCN7270

Miles took advantage of the wait and decided to love on daddy

and momma

DSCN7278DSCN7279

Big boys took the little boys down to the track for a closer look.

DSCN7285DSCN7286DSCN7290

The last race was some big Quarter Horse race.

DSCN7295

It was a short race so they ran right by the fence.  Miles didn’t like it, but as you can see, it did not phase Dylan

It was a fun exciting exhausting mini vacation but we all had such a wonderful time together.  I cant wait for more mini family vacations with my bestie and her family.  Click here to see Miles’ first trip to Ruidoso
