Miles Cooper

After 3 weeks of being on bed rest for high blood pressure, Miles finally made is way to meet us, and he did it all his way. Dec. 29, I had my weekly checkup, we were going to get everything in order for my induction on Jan. 4. Luckily my Aunt Cheri went with me, because when my BP was checked, it was the highest it had ever been...Dr. Blann left no option, I was going to the hospital and would be having a baby the next day. I was not physically ready (or mentally) so I had to have a little help via medicine to get me ready to deliver the next day. The medicine caused severe cramps and started my contractions...I was in pain and the pain pills were not working. At 3 am on Dec. 30, they went ahead and gave me my epidural and YAY no more pain or feeling. So I was pretty happy, but it seems my son was not. After I received my epidural Miles's heart rate became very high, for no reason, the nurses could not figure out why it was high. Around 5am (I think) the nurses became very concerned, so at 6am they had another Dr. come in and break my water to see if that would make his heart rate drop...it didnt. Dr. Blann came in right before 7am and he didnt waste anytime, he said we were going to have to do a C-Section because Miles's heart rate was just to high. SO at 7:19am my sweet baby boy came into this world via C-Section. This was not what I had in mind, I never experienced labor, but my sweet boy wanted out. There was so much going through my mind, most importantly, was my baby ok?? I watched his heart rate all night and now it seemed everyone was moving fast and that he needed out right then, I was terrified. BUT, he was born completely healthy and his heart rate was normal when he got here. The Dr. said that I probably would have had to have a C-Section anyways, because Miles's ear would have come out first and his umbilical cord was over his shoulder. My sweet boy new what was best after all.
