Ok…so things have been super crazy the last couple of weeks. No pictures on this post, just a fast update on what's going on with us. First, back in February, I think, we started the whole house buying adventure! We found a house in Littlefield that would be perfect for our family (after we add our touches to it) So we made the leap. We signed a contract.
So in the next couple of weeks, we started packing everything up, living with boxes everywhere, having to unpack boxes to find a bowl to eat cereal. We just decided that I would drive back and forth to Lubbock with Miles and continue to work at the law firm. I loved working there and I had no problem driving. Well, something better came along. A job opened up at the FSA office in Littlefield. I applied, and somehow got the job. So now I had a very difficult decision to make. Start a new job and quit a job that I loved or keep driving to Lubbock everyday. Well, although I loved my job at the firm, I know that I would HATE driving back and forth everyday. Plus I knew in my heart that would not be far to Miles. So I took the job in Littlefield.
My last day at the law firm was on February25 and my first day at the FSA office was February 28. Not only was I starting a new job, Miles would have to start a new daycare. I was more upset about taking him out of the only daycare he has ever known, away from his friends that he has had since he was 7 weeks old. But obviously he could not stay in Lubbock, with me working in Littlefield and Aaron working in Levelland. So Miles and I get up bright and early that Monday morning and start our journey to our new beginnings. He did wonderful his first day at Gingerbread House. So that made things for me a lot easier. So my first day at work, we have a conference call, with some head honcho for the agency, about what you ask??? BUDGET! Did I make the right decision??? We are having to talk about not having any money for the fiscal year and a government shut down. That’s just wonderful. But it did not shut down (at least not yet). So for one full week I drive back and forth…I was tired!
The next couple of weeks, we stayed with mom and dad some instead of driving back and forth. Aren't they wonderful??? So we are still homeless, or at least homeless in Littlefield. We were suppose to close on the house on March 11. That was 45 days since signing the contract. We guess what….yelp…all the paperwork is still not done. So I stress out! I mean really, stress out. We are going through FHA to do the home loan and it seems like things are never going to get done. We finally we get a closing date. March 18. So Aaron and I go to the title company at 10am on March 18 and sign our life away and started moving asap. We are now the proud owners of our very first home in Littlefield TX.
We are so happy to be here, I have a wonderful job (as long as the government does not shut down) we have a wonderful home and Miles LOVES it here. There is so much room for him to run and scream and do all things boys love to do. Oh yeah…on March 21 Aaron and I celebrated our TWO year anniversary. No presents were exchanged this year, since we bought each other a new home.
Well, that pretty much brings us up to date! Now for some post with pictures…
