34 weeks

Well….we have made it to our first milestone.  I am now 34 weeks with KJ.  Didn’t think I would ever make it here.  I have been dealing with blood pressure problems since November, so to make it 34 weeks, is HUGE.  This week, lil KJ is the size of a cantaloupe.

We went to the dr yesterday to check on him one more.  He is around 5 pounds and is (in Dr. Blann’s terms) extremely average…which I will take. The Fetal Pyelectasis  of the right kidney has not gotten any bigger since my 21 week sonogram which is awesome.  Dr Blann is very optimistic that it will correct itself once KJ is born.  We found out that he has “extra energy” that he is wasting by going through the motion of breathing.  I have never thought of the baby not needing to breathe, but momma does that for baby.  We could see him actually breathe in and out, which Dr Blann said means he has a lot of energy.  Great that he is doing so well…not so great if he has THAT much energy once he gets here.  He also is already a little ornery…don’t know where he gets it.  But we could not get a good picture of his face.  His hands were covering his face up the whole time.

So now that we are 34 weeks, he could be here at any time.  I am still holding out for April though, but it probably wont be my call.  I am sure my blood pressure will end up getting to high, but maybe not.  I really want to wait until the end of March at least, but whenever he comes I will be ready and excited and scared and nervous all at once.  I cant believe we are less than 6 weeks away from meeting Keeton!!!! So are so excited and so blessed.

Next appointment is April 14, so hopefully I wont be blogging from the hospital room.
